The Communication Unit of the Institut Pasteur de Montevideo is responsible for disseminating information related to the activities carried out at the institute and by its researchers.
Here we share a list of articles that we have published on our websites, articles published in national and international outlets, IP Montevideo general information, and some pictures of our institute that can be used freely.
We can also help you by putting you in touch with spokespersons, setting up interviews, and providing information about IP activities.
The Institut Pasteur de Montevideo (IP Montevideo) is located in Mataojo 2020, in the neighborhood of Malvín Norte. Built in 2006 on an area of 23,000 m2, the IP Montevideo shares the campus with the Faculty of Sciences and, most recently, with the Higher Institute of Physical Education (ISEF).
The building is divided into two floors: technological platforms and laboratories are located in the top floor, along with office, management and secretarial areas, as well as meeting rooms; while the ground floor includes the administrative area, smaller laboratories, meeting rooms, innovation space, and other general services.
The sanitary, electricity and thermal conditioning facilities were designed to allow great flexibility, foreseeing possible later modifications. The building is equipped with modern digital telephone systems and Internet access, as well as an alarm system and access control.
Thanks to the work carried out by the Maintenance team, IP Montevideo received a special award from the National Energy Efficiency Award, an initiative of the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Mining (MIEM) in Uruguay that recognizes national projects that are outstanding at energy efficiency.
The award is recognition for the implementation of measure to reduce the consumption of hot water, incorporating efficient technology in the heating, which allowed reducing the energy consumption. For more information about this award, click here.
Guided tours of the IP Montevideo for students are offered twice a month. They are coordinated by our investigators and last approximately 1:30 hours. The tours are mainly for elementary or high school students.
A tour coordinator receives the groups at the main entrance and deliver a general presentation of the Institute. After doing a guided tour to the building, the group stops in one lab to make some hands-on activities.
Visits are scheduled for two Fridays every month (from March to October), for a maximum of 30 visitors per tour, during the following hours:
• Morning: between 9 am and 12 noon
• Afternoon: between 2 pm and 5 pm
If you are interested in bringing a group for a tour, please contact us at email@example.com
Every year, in October, the Pasteur Institute of Montevideo opens its doors for a whole day to welcome those who want to know about our work and to visit our laboratories.
There is no reservation needed, except for groups of more than 15 people (for example, students). In this case, in the weeks prior to the open doors activity we will informed through our social networks and other communication channels that registration is open. Usually, this reservation is made by mail.
We are looking forward to your visit!
