Course “Latin American Biology of Parasitism – LatAmBoP 2020”

22 June – 3 July, Montevideo, Uruguay

The ICGEB aims at strengthening the research capability of its Members through a comprehensive training programme and approach to promoting biotechnology internationally. The active participation of ICGEB Member States nationals in the ICGEB Meetings and Courses is therefore highly encouraged. This course will cover important aspects of modern research on apicomplexan parasites and will be divided in lectures given by leading experts in each field, and two distinct experimental moduls. The focus of lectures is broad and intends to be multidisciplinary covering relevant topics on pathogenesis and treatment of apicomplexan diseases, molecular and cellular biology of apicomplexan parasites, bioinformatics and database mining, immunology and animal models, genotyping and drug discovery/drug resistance.

Participants

  • Researchers holding a BSc or equivalent in a relevant field (biology, biochemistry, medicine, veterinary medicine, public health or epidemiology).
  • Citizens or permanent residents of a Latin American country
  • Students and Junior Scientists are welcome to attend

Funding

Participants are expected to cover their own travel costs

Accommodation, meals, and local transfers hotel-institute-hotel are covered by the organization of the course.

Exceptional contributions towards travel costs will be available from the organizers and external sponsors for selected students/junior scientists and will be analysed after selection process.
