To celebrate the 200th anniversary of the birth of Louis Pasteur, the Institut Pasteur de Montevideo -one of the 32 members of the worldwide network of Pasteur institutes- created a traveling art exhibition associated with a website that traces the life of the French researcher and seeks to bring society closer to the importance and validity of his discoveries.<\/p>\n
From his key role in the production of vaccines to pasteurization, which makes food safer and more accessible, Pasteur’s scientific contributions marked a before and after in his time and are still in use today.<\/p>\n
Based on these and other milestones of the scientist’s life, the exhibition consists of seven paintings illustrated by Alfonso Rosso that allow us to learn more about Pasteur’s work.<\/p>\n
Each painting is presented as a cover story of the fictitious magazine“The Pasteurian<\/strong>“, inspired by the relevance of Pasteur’s contributions in his time, which often occupied the pages of newspapers.
