The Analytical Biochemistry and Proteomics Unit, (Joint Unit Institut Pasteur de Montevideo-Instituto de Investigaciones Biol\u00f3gicas Clemente Estable)<\/a> calls for a student to carry out his\/her graduate thesis, with an hourly load to be agreed with the researcher.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n We are looking for undergraduate students with degrees related to biological sciences, statistics or engineering.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Although it is not exclusive, knowledge of programming and\/or data analysis would be an asset.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The graduate thesis will be carried out within the framework of a research line that uses multi-omics data and artificial intelligence to predict gene functions. The selected person will work with Dr. Flavio Pazos Obreg\u00f3n and Dr. Rosario Dur\u00e1n and will join the project “Identification of new components of the divisome and elongasome of Corynebacteriales using spatial proteomics, gene location patterns and artificial intelligence”<\/strong>. During the thesis work, machine learning models capable of predicting gene functions will be implemented, using public domain multiomics data and data obtained by our Unit.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The internship will be, in principle, honorary, although depending on the progress of the project, funding will be sought.
