Louis Pasteur traveling exhibition
To celebrate the 200th anniversary of the birth of Louis Pasteur, the Institut Pasteur de Montevideo -one of the 32 members of the worldwide network of Pasteur institutes- created a traveling art exhibition associated with a website that traces the life of the French researcher and seeks to bring society closer to the importance and validity of his discoveries.
From his key role in the production of vaccines to pasteurization, which makes food safer and more accessible, Pasteur’s scientific contributions marked a before and after in his time and are still in use today.
Based on these and other milestones of the scientist’s life, the exhibition consists of seven paintings illustrated by Alfonso Rosso that allow us to learn more about Pasteur’s work.
Each painting is presented as a cover story of the fictitious magazine“The Pasteurian“, inspired by the relevance of Pasteur’s contributions in his time, which often occupied the pages of newspapers. All the pictures include a QR code that directs to the web page created especially for this traveling exhibition to be hosted by institutions interested in exhibiting it or using it for educational purposes.
We invite interested institutions to apply for the sample!
