Call 02-23: undergraduate student – Cell Biology Unit – IP Montevideo

The Cell Biology Unit of the Institut Pasteur in Montevideo is calling for a student to carry out an internship with an hourly load to be agreed.

Training accomplished

We are looking for advanced students in Biological Sciences, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Medicine, Veterinary Medicine and related careers, interested in doing an internship as part of an undergraduate thesis in the area of Cell Biology.

Experience

No previous experience is required.

Responsibilities

The dissertation will be carried out within the framework of the project “Investigating the biological effect of breast milk exosomes on the intestinal epithelium using neonatal and adult intestinal organoids”. The selected person will develop experimental activity that will include various techniques, including: murine intestinal organoid culture (3D), extraction of milk extracellular vesicles (EV) by ultracentrifugation and size exclusion chromatography, PCR, confocal microscopy, western blot, reporter assays, among others.

Duration

The position will last for 12 months (with the possibility of joining the laboratory as a graduate student through the fellowship system depending on performance and interest).
