Institut Pasteur de Montevideo’s principal investigators Rosario Durán (Analytical Biochemistry and Proteomics Unit) and Alejandro Buschiazzo (Protein Crystallography Unit and Molecular and Structural Microbiology Laboratory) are among the winners of the Inter-Pasteurian Concerted Actions (ACIP) call for researchers from the Institut Pasteur in Paris and other institutions of the Pasteur Network.
The project is called“First investigation of Leptospira immunopeptidome associated with dendritic cells presentation: towards a cross-protective sterilizing vaccine against leptospirosis” and was presented together with researchers from the Paris and New Caledonia institutes.
Meanwhile, the project ‘Molecular determinants of microtubule organizing centers’ biogenesis and function in protozoan parasites’, by the head of the Apicomplexan Biology Laboratory of the Institut Pasteur de Montevideo and researcher at the Universidad de la República, María Eugenia Francia, was chosen to form a Pasteur International Research Unit (PIU) in collaboration with the instituts Pasteur in Paris and Lille.
PIUs are five-year (renewable) ‘virtual units’ that aim to strengthen the relationships of up to three institutions working on innovative research topics.
