The Structural and Molecular Microbiology Laboratory of the Institut Pasteur de Montevideo calls a student to carry out his postgraduate thesis, workload 30 hours per week.
Training accomplished
This call is addressed mainly to those who have an MSc degree or graduates with a strong motivation to do a postgraduate degree, with training in Biochemistry, Biology, Biotechnology or Chemistry.
Experience
Experience in Molecular Biology and/or Biochemistry techniques will be valued.
Responsibilities
The postgraduate thesis will be carried out within the framework of ANII’s Clemente Stable Fund project: “Bacterial reprogramming through the engineering of signaling systems“, under the supervision of Felipe Trajtenberg, PhD.
The selected person will develop activities within the framework of a Synthetic Biology project, acquiring training in molecular biology, biochemistry, bioinformatics, systems biology and structural biology techniques. The goal of the project involves the rational design of customizable biosensors and the rewiring of signaling pathways in bacteria for applied purposes.
Remuneration
The project has funding for an ANII Doctorate scholarship, available within the framework of the project.
Duration
The position is highly dedicated and will last for a minimum of 2 (master’s) or 3 (doctorate) years.
