Ruben Rada -renowned uruguayan singer- performed this Monday, November 27th at the Teatro de Verano, in a benefit show for the Institut Pasteur de Montevideo.
During the two-hour concert, Rada and his band performed his greatest hits from his seven decade-long career. From the songs “Chacha Muchacha”, “Un tango para Gardel” and “Manzanas” to “Mi País”, the audience joined in with lots of dancing, rhythm and joy.
In addition, the opening act of the show was “No Te Preocupes (en realidad hacemos ciencia)”, the institute´s band, made up of scientists, with the aim of disseminating science. In their show, the band covered well-known national and international songs, in addition to sharing information related to scientific topics.
All proceeds from the concert will be used to fund special scientific projects at the Institut Pasteur de Montevideo and to boost the careers of young researchers. The event was part of the Amigos Pasteur initiative.
